“A home away from home”: in the Viennese coffee house or Heuriger.
What the writer and poet Peter Altenberg once said of Viennese coffee houses is equally true for the Viennese Heuriger: places to relax, enjoy and let your soul drift. This is where you will taste some typical “Viennese Cuisine”: Strudel, Buchteln or yeast dumplings, Powidltascherl or stewed plum pastries from Bohemia, various types of goulash from Hungary and probably the most famous of all Austrian dishes, Wiener Schnitzel or Viennese escalope.
Right in the very heart of Vienna we take you to the traditional Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest fruit and vegetable market where you will find food from a countless number of countries: exotic fruit, spices all the way from the Orient, cheese from Italy …The colourful throng, many aromas and hues are a feast for all senses. A last ramble through the trendy Freihausviertel with its artists’ cafés, exclusive designer shops and renowned galleries rounds off the walk.
