We explore the outskirts of Vienna on a number of different tours, which can be arranged individually to include the things that interest you most.
There are not many cities that can count themselves so lucky as to have a paradise such as the famous woods of the Wienerwald on their doorsteps. The surroundings of Vienna are just as inviting as the city itself: romantic landscapes and picturesque villages beckon you to a day’s outing: via the Höhenstraße with its delightful view over the city to the 900-year-old Klosterneuburg Monastery of Augustian Canons that houses both the oldest and largest winery in Austria and where you can taste and buy wine as well as the newly adapted treasury where you can see the legendary “Veil of Agnes” and other precious liturgical garments.
To the Cistercian monastery of the Heiligenkreuz Abbey that is today the world’s only Cistercian monastery that has existed without interruption since its foundation and to the Mayerling hunting mansion with its still unsolved mystery surrounding the death of Crown Prince Rudolf and his 17-year-old lover the Baroness Mary Vetsera. To the Biedermeier-style spar of Baden, that just invites you to linger in its tranquil town centre and to Gumpoldskirchen, the most famous of all the Heuriger wine locations in the thermal spa region.
We offer many different excursions and guided tours of the region around Vienna and would be more than glad to arrange an individual (day) trip for you on request.
